After an energizing morning workout and breakfast, we will take a ride to Sandy Point National Wildlife Refuge. This beach is an important turtle nesting sanctuary - and it is also the beach from The Shawshank Redemption!! Amazing! We'll return to the retreat center for lunch and a property tour from the owners to help you get acquainted with the area. We'll wind things down with a yoga class and dinner overlooking the ocean.

We'll start the day once again with a great workout and a delicious plant-based breakfast, and then we'll get in the water again! You'll have the opportunity to walk to the beach, practice snorkeling in the pool, or take a ride down to Fredriksted Pier (just a few minutes down the road) for some of the best snorkeling on the island. We'll return to Feather Leaf for lunch followed by a plant-based cooking class - so that you can take this great food home with you! Your day will end with another yoga session and dinner overlooking the ocean.

We'll get an early start on this day and it will be worth it! We will be chartering a private half-day guided cruise and snorkel tour to Buck Island, just off the coast of St Croix! Buck Island Reef National Monument was established by Presidential proclamation in 1961, and expanded in 2001, in order to preserve "one of the finest marine gardens in the Caribbean Sea." The 176-acre island and surrounding coral reef ecosystem support a large variety of native flora and fauna, including several endangered and threatened species.

Those that do not wish to snorkel can hang back at Feather Leaf Inn and enjoy a massage instead.

After our snorkel adventure, we'll wind down with a lowkey and lovely visit to the St George Botanical Gardens. Here you can learn more about the local flora and fauna, and you will also learn more about the complex history of the island and the enslaved people who were brought here. These botanical gardens are located on a former planation which has been "partially restored" and turned into a haven for plants, trees, hummingbirds, and fruit bats. It's great and worth a trip.

I asked my husband to pose for a photo and this is what I got! On this day, our early birds will have a special opportunity to head out to Point Udall and see the sunrise over the ocean at the eastern-most point in the United States. Those that do NOT wish to rise at 5am can join us a bit later. We will hike the Jack & Isaac Bay Preserve, a beautiful and very accessible network of hiking trails featuring the arid landscape of the eastern side of the island and spectacular ocean views. Our hike will bring us directly to a secluded beach where we will have plenty of time to picnic and relax before heading back to Feather Leaf.

We always leave one day "unscheduled" so that you can choose your own adventure or just catch some much needed downtime. Book a massage or plan your own excursion - we are happy to help you fulfil any remaining items on your island bucket list! We'll always end the day with a closing circle after dinner and maybe we'll pull out the guitar for some tunes. 

All good things eventually must come to an end! It's our hope that you'll leave this trip feeling refreshed, recharged, and exhilarated. We know you won't want to leave, but hopefully this will just be "see you later" and not "goodbye." Take those good vibes home with you and spread them around!
